1. Sun Protection
One of the most significant benefits of wearing modest swimwear is sun protection. Modest swimwear typically offers more coverage, which helps to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. This is especially important for those with fair skin or a history of skin cancer. With modest swimwear, you can enjoy your time in the water without worrying about getting a sunburn or damaging your skin.
2. Comfort
Wearing modest swimwear can also be more comfortable than traditional swimwear. Many modest swimsuits, such as the Mocha Ribbed Half Zip Swim Dress, Blue Abstract Flow Swim Dress, and Neutral Swirl Wrap Swim Dress, are designed with breathable and lightweight fabrics that don't cling to the body, providing a more comfortable fit. This can be especially beneficial for those who are self-conscious about their bodies and want to feel more secure and confident in their swimwear.
3. Body Positivity
Another benefit of wearing modest swimwear is promoting body positivity. Modest swimwear allows you to feel more comfortable in your skin and focus on enjoying the water activities, rather than worrying about how you look in traditional swimwear. Additionally, modest swimwear can be a great way to express your personal style and showcase your fashion sense, all while feeling comfortable and confident. Some of the new arrivals in modest swimwear, such as the Blue Abstract A-Line Swim Skirt, Mediterranean Full Print Swim Top, and Turquoise Snakeskin Sleeve Swim Dress, offer trendy and stylish options that are sure to make you feel confident and beautiful.
4. Versatility
Modest swimwear can also be incredibly versatile. Many pieces can double as everyday clothing, making them a great option for those who want to transition from the beach to other activities without needing to change. For example, the Mediterranean Maxi Wrap Swim Skirt can be worn as a cover-up during the day and a skirt for dinner in the evening, offering a stylish and practical option for any occasion.
5. Cultural and Religious Beliefs
For many women, wearing modest swimwear is a cultural or religious belief. Modest swimwear allows these women to feel comfortable while adhering to their beliefs and values. By offering modest swimwear options, swimwear companies can provide options for women from all cultures and religions. The Blue Abstract Maxi Drawstring Swim Dress and Blue Abstract Flow Swim Dress are great examples of modest swimwear options that cater to different cultural and religious beliefs.
In conclusion, wearing modest swimwear has many benefits, including sun protection, comfort, body positivity, versatility, and adherence to cultural and religious beliefs. Modest swimwear provides a more covered-up option for those who prefer to dress modestly, allowing them to enjoy the water activities without worrying about their appearance or beliefs. If you're looking for a comfortable, stylish, and versatile swimwear option, consider trying out modest swimwear. Check out Undercover Waterwear Summer '23 Modest Swimwear collection.

Luckily at Undercover Waterwear, we thought about all these trends and translated them into effortlessly chic modest swimwear that can take you from the beach to brunch in a flash. Take our Gunmetal Swing Swim Dress, which is made from our special swim material and is a fun and fashionable swim dress. All of our Swing dresses, incorporate the voluminous silhouette that was showcased on fashion runways. I think everyone can agree that fashion is an expression of what society is feeling, and we are all looking for a way to express our sense of exuberance. Another perfect example of this is the Snakeskin Short Sleeve Swing Swim Dress, which showcases the perfect amount of volume and is a swim dress that gives you the luxury of movement and practicality whilst still being fashionable.
As always florals are right on trend, this time we are seeing retro floral prints becoming very popular. Floral prints can be seen in our Pink Floral Flow Swim Dress or the Blue Floral Swing Swim Dress. They both showcase a gorgeous subtle floral print that is feminine and stylish. If you gravitate towards swim tops and swim skirts, check out the Blue Floral Full Zip Swim Top and pear it with the matching Blue Floral Skirts that come in A-line, Maxi, and Pencil silhouettes.
Another trend that is popping up on the runways is the wrap skirt. Our amazing Orange Patchwork Wrap Swim Skirt looks effortless and chic paired with a plain white or black swim top. Valentino showed a gorgeous wrap midi skirt, and we’ve taken this stylish element and incorporated it into our swim skirts. The Black & White Pixel Wrap Skirt is another great option for a classic swim skirt with a modern appeal. Finally, Missoni inspired prints were seen everywhere, and at Undercover Waterwear we love making fashion accessible and wearable. We incorporated the Missoni print in our Missoni Sleeve Swim Dress, Black Missoni Sleeve Swim Top and our Missoni printed swim skirts that come in a variety of lengths and styles.

]]>There are some key things to keep in mind when looking for swimwear that enables you to do the activities you love. For example, our Snakeskin Short Sleeve Swing Swim Dress, is the perfect modest swim dress that gives you the freedom of movement while enjoying swim activities. Another great option is the Missoni A-Line Swim Skirt paired with the Black Missoni Sleeve Swim Top, which will give you modest coverage and leave you feeling fashionable and allow you to exude confidence. Don’t let a lack of modest swimwear prevent you from enjoying your favorite water activities.

All of our swim tops, swim dresses, swim leggings, swim shorts, and swim skirts are quick drying. Take for example our Swim Dress With Banded Sleeve, which dries quickly ensuring that you don’t feel sticky or cold, hours after being in the water. Our Ladies Flairy Swim Skirt, paired with our Black Front Tie Swim Top, will keep you stylish in the water and out; and you don’t have to worry about any clinging, so you can feel completely relaxed.

Go ahead and enjoy water skiing, surfing, boating, and canoeing in our comfortable swimwear. With that in mind, seeking out adventure and spending time in the water will be a breeze.]]>
A very useful trick is to pack the night before. Pack your beach tote with essentials like sunscreen, sun hats, baby wipes, water bottles, towels, sunglasses, snacks, and a light jacket for yourself and the kids. Gather your shovels, buckets, and beach balls, so that you don’t have to go searching all over the house in the morning before you leave. Bring two bags, one for your dry items, and one for wet items such as clothes. In terms of food items, try to cut up fruit and place them in Tupperware and make sandwiches the night before. Think about taking a Ziploc bag or waterproof, protective case for your phone. Additionally, you can fill up your car with gas and stash your beach chairs in the car.
Having the right swimwear for yourself and your kids is also key to having a worry free day. Since swimwear may get misshapen from year to year, at the beginning of the summer season check your current selection of swimwear. Some of your swimsuits and swim dresses might not fit or might not be as comfortable as you’d like. Thankfully you can go online to Undercover Waterwear and find so many options for swimwear and swim coverups. Take for example, the stylish Zigzag Flow Swim Dress, that is non clingy, and is made with an especially flattering cut. This swim dress comes in two other fabulous prints, Pink Floral and Ocean Wave. If you are looking for a super chic swimwear option, try our Orange Patchwork Wrap Swim Skirt and pair it with our Basic Swim Top or our Ladies Short Sleeve Swim Tee. Having the right swim bra is also vital so that you are comfortable swimming, jogging, running, or even playing beach volleyball. Our Swim Bra is available in Black or Nude and is supportive, so that you can feel confident in and out of the water. Don’t forget vital swim accessories like our Black or Gray Swim Hat. These swim hats are perfect for sun protection and are made from our fast drying material.
If you want beach day to be stress free don’t forget to prep your kids’ swimwear as well. Being in the water will be as easy as 1, 2,3, with our Kids Heart Swim Dress or our Kids Denim Elastic Swim Dress. Does your teen like swim tops and swim skirts? Never fear! Some examples of our modest swimwear that offers sun protection include the Black & White Pixel Swing Swim Dress, which features a one size fits all design that is comfortable and stylish for all your pool-side lounging and swim activities. If you are looking for complete sun protection for your legs, you can choose from the myriad of swim leggings that we carry. From our Long Black Swim Leggings, Blue Colorblock Leggings, and shorter length Swim Leggings, to our Black Swim Shorts, each of our legging and short options offer the sun protection you need.
You might be wondering what UPF actually means and how our modest swimwear protects you from skin cancer. According to skincancer.org, “Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun’s rays and allows two percent (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly.” The swim dresses and swim tops we carry offer this sun protection for both women and girls. In search of stylish swim apparel that will be modest, chic, and prevent harmful rays? You might opt for our Dolman Swim Top or Swim Tie Top. Both these swim tops pair beautifully with our modest Black Mesh Sarong Swim Skirt or Black and White Floral Pencil Swim Skirt. For the perfect swim set, checkout the Blue Floral A-line Swim skirt with the Blue Floral Full Zip Swim Top.
Whether you are actively engaging in water activities or just lounging beach-side; we have you covered. Our great swim dresses allow you to be covered as you go to the beach, a restaurant, or a store. Our Ladies 1/2 Zip Bronze Maxi Swim Dress has a great color block detail on the sleeve and also provides UPF 50+ for full protection in the sun. With the summer upon us, now is the time to take action and be proactive to ensure that you are protected against skin cancer. Modest swimwear allows you to take a deep breath and rest assured that you are protected and stylish at the same time!
]]>With summer upon us, many shoppers are beginning to search for modest clothing that is airy, breathable, and fashionable. All the more so for someone who is active and wants to go from a jog on the beach or a swim in the pool to brunch with friends or carpool. Thankfully, leading a modest and active lifestyle while staying up to date on fashion trends is no longer a paradox. Let us show you how you can achieve that effortless, modest fashion look with our modest swimwear dresses, skirts, and tops; leaving you with more time to relax and bask in the summer sun.
The first important lesson about styling modest looks and athleisure in the summer is rethinking the pieces you wear. Many of us might be stuck in the mindset of wearing modest activewear and swimwear for their activities only, yet they don’t realize the potential that is there. The modest swim Safari Flow Dress, is the perfect piece to style up or down. Throw on a denim jacket and pair it with some cool sneakers, and what you wore to the beach can be instantly transformed to a night out look with your friends. Another great option is the swim Maxi Dress, the uber cool maxi length is perfect for work and play.
Separates can also be a great way to take modest swimwear and activewear and incorporate them into your day to day routine. One can wear one of our great basic Aline skirts like the swim Black and White Floral Aline Skirt with a basic swim top for biking, hiking, and so much more. There are so many options for ladies to be modest and chic. The Ladies Swim Skirt with Leggings, is such a great option for those that enjoy comfort and style while jogging, biking, surfing, swimming, taking an outdoor exercise class, and more. Pair it with the Tropical Leaves Rashguard Top or Missoni Rashguard and you’ll be on the best dressed list! The Nude or Black Mesh Sarong is another great modest skirt and you can feel confident that no matter your style, sporty or feminine, there is something for everyone.
What we love the most about ladies and girls modest swimwear, is that the opportunities for styling and mixing and matching are endless. Not to mention, the swimwear apparel offers sun protection, is non clingy, dries fast, and is durable. In need of swim shorts or a swim bra to make you feel confident and comfortable whilst engaging in your favorite summer activities? We’ve got you covered! With our black swim shorts, swim leggings, bra, and swim skirts in different lengths; you’ll be able to optimize your time doing the things you love and feel stylish at the same time.
Summer is the time to relax, spend time with family, work on your self-care goals, and take care of your physical health. One no longer has to compromise their fashion aesthetic and taste while doing what they love. Undercover Waterwear modest swimwear offers a bevy of options, and transitioning from one activity to the next has become much easier. ]]>Undercover Waterwear is a brand created with a unique philosophy. We aim to provide modest full coverage swimwear that is fashionable enough to be worn practically anywhere! Follow us along our exploration of where these gorgeous outfits can take you!
For our first outfit, we picked the reptile pencil swimskirt and the white full zippered swim top. It’s hard to believe that you can wear this stunning pair in the pool or ocean! Wearing this, you are set to do everything, from brunch, to lunch, to poolside. Adjust your footwear to match your setting. It’s that easy!
We introduced the Maxi Swim Dress this season to a hugely positive response. For the ladies and girls who are looking for that extra coverage and ease, the Maxi Dresses were a direct solution! The Denim look is being highlighted here because of its popularity and versatility. No need to find a matching outfit with this dress! Just slip it on and you are ready to go! This swimdress is great for lounging at the beach, strolling around on the boardwalk, and finishing the day with a nice dinner out.
Another swim dress cut in our line is the Flow Dress. In the Turquoise Stripe print, this dress is bold and trendy. Show off this flattering style that is fashionably loose around the arms and tapers down towards the knees. With a nice pair of wedges and your favorite sunglasses, you are sure to make a mark in this dress!
For the all-around outfit, this combo is sure to be the winner! We took a Cobalt Blue Tie-Top and the Pucci A-line Swim Skirt. The key to the versatility here is the A-line skirt. The slight flair in this skirt makes it mobile enough for any activity you can think of- on land or water! Biking, boating, and hiking are just some of the things that you can do while wearing this modest swimwear set. And after your adventures, you can shop, eat, and chill without a fashion care in the world!
To end off, we would be remiss if we didn’t showcase something from our UCfit line. Shown here is the Black and White FIT Skirt matched with the White Full Zippered Top. If the top looks familiar, that’s because it’s the same from our first outfit! This outfit is totally sporty and active. Grab your sneakers and water bottle and head to the gym for a modest workout! This outfit looks great while you’re on your morning jog or yoga. And if you’re looking for even more coverage, throw on leggings or shorts as well.

]]>We get it. Prints can be tricky. You have to find something that matches perfectly. Luckily, we have a few tricks in our wardrobe to help out with that ;)
Our first choice is a solid black short sleeve top. This outfit is so simple and fun, you can just throw it on and wear it all day long! The short sleeves are a great option for ladies who want coverage, but not full sleeves.
The Denim Tie Top has been featured in out style diaries before for a very simple reason; it matches so many things and looks great on! Wear this popular top with the Pucci skirt for a perfect casual-dressed outfit that’s perfect for brunch, lunch, and everything in between!
For a more active look, we matched up the white full zip top from our UCfit line. The full zipper makes it sophisticated and versatile. Go for a jog or just hang out in this fun outfit.
Let us know how you would match it!
Happy water days :)
]]>This Purple Swim Top is so bright and cheerful, we couldn’t help but want to feature it this week! And since it’s a solid color, there are so many ways to wear it! Here are three ways that we did it:
Purple and Denim together is just so fun! The Denim Maxi Skirt is a good choice if you want a lazy lounging day, or just want to hang out! This casual look looks great all day!
Honestly, the Metallic line surpasses all other prints in how fast it became the most popular choice of print! From when we first introduced it earlier this year, until now, it remains as one of the most beautiful and sought-after skirt. Here we have it in silver with a pencil cut for a gorgeous and sleek look.
For a more simple match, we chose the mini skirt with attached shorts. This outfit is understated, yet flattering. The practical skirt provides extra coverage for when you are on the go. And since the shorts are sewn-in, you can wear it worry free while doing all your favorite activities!
Hope you enjoyed these outfit inspirations!

The Navy Short Sleeve Topbrings out the dark blues in the skirt, and is so easy to dress up with jewelry and other accessories! Add wedges to make this the perfect beach to brunch outfit!
Last but not least, we have the Full Zippered White Top for a more sophisticated look. The full zipper is great for people who like to be able to easily adjust their style! For the first outfit, we’re keeping it high paced! The Mint Green Sport Top matches perfectly to create an awesome and easy work-out outfit. ]]>Welcome to the first chapter of our new series, the Style Diary! Every week, we’ll share a new set of outfit ideas centered around one item, along with tips and tricks on enjoying your modest swimwear to the max!
This week, we had to do the Denim Tie Top. The Denim Print has always been one of the favorites, and with our new Tie feature, there are so many ways to wear this top!
Author’s note: I love this top, and it’s a piece in my wardrobe that I never fail to bring on vacation. I wore it for a full day in and out of the water on my last trip!
So let’s get right into it:
Denim on denim is a great look! I would recommend this outfit for a lazy beach day or a lunch out. Dress it up with cute wedges, jewelry and a fun beach bag. The good thing about having an all denim look is that it matches with so many colors!
Click HERE to shop the Denim Look
Match up the Tie Top with a printed skirt from our collection for an easy, cheerful outfit. Shown here is the Missoni Pencil Skirt, which matches beautifully with the denim print. We have many more printed skirts that match, be sure to check them out HERE!
With an outfit like this, you can wear it all day- in the water and out, because it dries very fast. (Especially on hot summer days!) This is one of the things that makes Undercover Waterwear products so convenient- it looks good enough to wear all day, and transitions right out of the water to regular life. I love this when I’m on vacation because that means less to carry around!
Adding a Skirt With Leggings to really any top is very easy with the variety of colors that we offer. Basic Black is perfect with the Tie Top. This outfit is recommended for all active girls! The skirt is an a-line cut, with sewn-in leggings, so it’s very popular with ladies who enjoy jogging, biking, kayaking, and all other activities! The leggings keep you extra sun safe and modest while you have fun!
Author’s note: Another option is to buy the leggings separately, which are available in different lengths, and wear them with an skirt you buy. I personally also have shorts that I love to wear under an A-line skirt. In my recent trip to Italy, they were perfect when I went snorkeling and stand-up paddling!
Hope you enjoyed this weeks chapter! Check back again next week to see what we feature next! We love to hear your feedback, so leave your comments down below.
Happy water days! :)

Cancer affects so many of us but skin cancer like Melanoma is easily prevented and treated when caught early. Since it’s Melanoma awareness month, we’ve decided to share with you the easy ways to protect your skin, everything you need to know about the dangers of sun exposure and how the celebs keep themselves protected too.
The Dangers Of Sun Exposure
Lying out in the sun too long accelerates the effects of aging and increases your risk of skin cancer. While in western culture the skin ideal is to be tanned, the real question is at what cost? Aside from the deadly skin diseases that can form from too much unprotected skin exposure, the sun actually creates many of the symptoms we consider a normal part of aging. Too much sun exposure will create more and deeper wrinkles, brown age spots, loss of elastin and can even allow you to bruise more easily.
Of course sunburn is one of the most common of all skin conditions associated with sun exposure. While minor cases result in an uncomfortable reddening of the skin which after treatment will go away easily, while other more serious cases can result in blistering and a crocodile skin like effect.
How to Protect Yourself In the Sun
Whether you choose a spray, oil, cream or lotion based skin protector, always read the instructions carefully. Most skin protectors should be applied thirty minutes before exposure and again once exposed to the sun. Don’t forget to reapply after swimming and apply more product to areas prone to burning such as the nose, thighs and shoulders.
It’s also very important to protect your head and neck in the heat too. Heatstroke is extremely common, resulting in dizziness, nausea, migraines and fatigue. Always protect your head and neck with a wide brimmed hat, wrap or parasol for prolonged exposure in the sun. Try out our chic and practical swim hat in gray, black or navy to keep the heat off your head https://www.undercoverwaterwear.com/accessories/gray-swim-hat-shb-g/
How Celebrities Cover Up
Many celebrities including Nicole Kidman, Elle MacPherson, Courtney Cox and Glee star Lea Michele are all fans of the rash guard on the beach. Protecting themselves against burning, chafing and simply covering up, the rash guard is becoming more and more popular as caring for your skin in the heat becomes a higher priority than achieving the perfect tan.
Our rash guards and swim tops at Under Cover Water Wear feature solid color designs, color blocking styles, side ties and zipped necklines providing a style for everyone. Shop our favorite rash guards and swim tops here.

You can protect your legs on land or in the water with our suitably designed swim skirts, leggings or shorts. With sizes ranging from extra small to 3X, there’s a piece for every body type and style. Use our maxi length swim skirts or full length leggings for maximum coverage. Made from UPF 50+ fabric technology, our products will provide all day long protection from the sun, idea for avoiding burning or for when burning had already occurred and you have no choice but to remain in the sun. Don’t forget, if you’re spending a lot of time in the water, the reflections can increase the suns effects, making them more damaging. Deceivable, as you’ll feel cooler under the water, be sure to remember to limit your time spent in the sea or pool, applying sun protection frequently and use water resistant formulas wherever possible.
Finally, always drink plenty of water during hot days as this too can be a danger in hot weather. It’s very easy to become dehydrated in hot weather especially if you’re participating in water sports. Be sure to refuel with fresh water and most importantly, caffeinated drinks like tea and coffee, will actually dehydrate you more, so don’t count them when toting up your water intake. Stay safe in the sun folks and cover up to protect your skin and avoid long term damage.

]]>For ladies who want to be modest, swim skirts are a must! But lots of people think that modesty makes you give up on looking good. To prove them wrong, I’m going to show you some of the outfits you can make from from the UCWW Modest Swimwear Line that are totally chic.
But first, let me clarify; these skirts are 100% gorgeous in the water and out. Lots of the outfits that you will see are meant to be worn out of the water! The great thing about these swim products is that they dry really quickly because they’re made from swim material. So once you’re done with the pool or beach, you can transition straight into evening or casual wear. This means that you have less to carry around, and less wet stuff in your bag!
A-line skirts are really great for a few reasons; since they are cut wider on bottom, a-line skirts are easy to move around in. Also, this cut is very flattering for ladies with fuller figures.
This swim outfit is easy and simple. The Denim Pocket A-line Swim Skirt is matched with a red Basic Swim Top. Accessories are simple, with a red clutch and red sandals.
This outfit is edgy and fun. We kept the Denim Swim Skirt, but switched out the top for a black shirt with a black jacket on top. Sneaker wedges add a casual air, and a few jewelry pieces bring out the gold sneaker detail.
Maxi Skirts are generally ankle length, and have a striking look. Long skirts, when done right, are naturally elegant in any setting. Also, since these Maxi Swim Skirts are UPF 50+, the length provides fuller sun protection! Read more on the dangers of sun damage here!
Here, the Cobalt Blue Swim Maxi Skirt is matched with the Coral Reef Rashguard Top. To keep it simple, we added gold band sandals and matching gold sunglasses
This outfit is perfect for a evening out on the boardwalk. In place of the swim top, we have a leopard print shirt. Black gladiator sandals with a chunky heel add height and flair. Accessories are simple, with a lace black choker, a pretty ring, and a black evening bag. And to bring the outfit together, we added a black belt.
Pencil Skirts are more form fitting than a-line skirts, as they are cut closer to the body. These skirts are perfect for both dressy and casual outfits.
The Python Pencil Swim Skirt looks comfortable and casual with a white top, sandals, and a funky head scarf.
Here, we paired the Python Skirt with a plain black top and added black wedges. Another option, you can throw on on a Black full zip Swim Top, worn as a jacket. This outfit is an elevated casual look.
The Sarong Swim Skirt is a special run that is available in stores only. It is an a-line cut skirt with a light, waterproof netting that knots to the side.
Match this Coral Sarong Swim Skirt with a White Basic Swim Top and accessorize with white flip-flops, a cute head scarf, and white sunglasses.
Without changing much, you can give an outfit a whole new style! Swap out the scarf for a hat, flip-flops for floral wedges, grab a purse, add some jewelry to dress it up, and you’re ready for a day out with friends!
Here we are in the summer months, and that means more vacationing for us! So you’ve convinced yourself you need a break, managed to get your husband/friends/family to get on board, saved up the pennies and planned the whole thing! But there’s always those bumps along the way that make you say “I forgot I hated traveling…”. But do not worry! As someone who just came back from a three week vacation, I think I am qualified to tell you a few ways you can make your trips a little more hassle free. I’ll also tell you about my recent experiences with UCWW products and a bit on what the whole “modest bathing suit” trend is really like. Disclaimer- I’ve worked for Undercover Waterwear for over a year now. I actually owned their products before I got the job. So no, they did not tell me what to write- the following account that I will tell give over now is entirely based on my own experiences.
To skip to the hacks, just scroll down a bit!
A) Who, What, Where, & WHY?
So the first thing that I want to address is what exactly Undercover Waterwear aims to do with their products. The company manufactures modest swim cover-ups that were originally made for modesty. The outfits are high quality, fashionable, and very convenient for religious women. If you are not familiar with how modest women swam before the invention of the “Swimdress“, let me acquaint you. When you got to the beach, you would immediately search for a bathroom so that you can change. The typical modest beachwear back then consisted of long, over-sized T-shirt worn over regular bathing suits. They looked as ridiculous as they sound. So when modest bathing suits came out, they were well received by the religious communities.
These days, UCWW is the top seller of modest swimwear in that original market, but have since expanded their consumer base because there are so many other benefits to the products. Many parents buy it for themselves and their kids because the outfits are really great for sun protection. It’s also good for water sports- to prevent chafing and again, sunburning. There are also many communities around the world that value modesty and also want to look good around the water.
B) My experience
So I just came back from a three week long vacation oversees. On my trip, I brought along a few pieces from the UCWW line:
I definitely prefer the a-line skirt cut for multiple reasons; for one, the flairy cut suits my figure better, since I have a narrow waist and wider hips. Two, the a-line cut is much more comfortable to move around in. I did a number of water sports, and was really glad I had the mobility of the A-line skirt. Here’s a quick account of what I did and how it was:
1. I went to a few beaches. On the days that I knew I would be in the water for the whole day, I just out a bikini under my outfit and wore it all day. What I usually did was swim first, rinse off, and then tan so that I was fully dry by the time I left the beach. I generally brought a change of underclothing because although the outfit dried really fast, it could get uncomfortable to walk around in a bathing suit, especially on the days when I did something non-water related afterwards. But even then, I usually didn’t even change out of my swim outfit for the rest of the day.
2. I did a water hike, and having a) an outfit that dried quickly and b) an a-line skirt was really helpful. I had a few friends with me who didn’t have a swim outfit- they actually went in their regular clothes. And since only a portion of the hike was actually in the water, it got a bit uncomfortable for them to be in soggy clothing until they got to the bathrooms to change- and you do not want to hear about the conditions of those bathrooms…
3. I did some water sports, and for those, I wore the shorts under, in case my skirt flew up (which it didn’t really do so much). Unfortunately, my shorts don’t get a happy ending to their story on my trip, as I left them at a beach one day :(
4. I did a few hikes, and I wore the shorts under. They were a lot less hot than I though they would be.
So that was a sum up of my latest experience. I also went on vacation last midwinter, and used it all the time for the pool and even biking.
Here’s what made living out of a suitcase for a while a lot more bearable!! Featured below it my actual suitcase that came along with me on my journeys :D
One thing I always hated about suitcases was that you start out with good intentions- honestly! And somewhere along the way, you REALLY need that shirt that’s on the bottom of your pile and your once neat little stacks of clothing are now intermingling and getting dressed is a nightmare. And even if will be unpacking soon- you can say goodbye to your nicely folded piles that nicely fit in your hotel draws. Honestly, this was one of the smartest things that I did on the whole trip- I couldn’t unpack for a week and a half!
So what you do is this:
1- Find a cardboard box and cut it open.
2- What I did next was make strips that were the length of the suitcase.
3- I then started folding the first pile, and measured exactly how long I would need to make the next piece.
4- If a pile was small, or I wanted to split things, I just laid down a piece of cardboard flat. This was great because I knew what was were, and when I wanted the bottom stuff, I just lifted the cardboard piece with the top pile safely and neatly folded on top.
This method that I came up with on the fly essentially creates 100% customizable compartments for free. I had a friend that bought expensive compartments online- and I almost did too, but I’m glad I didn’t!
This one is more obvious, but I was a little more creative with my ziplock use this trip.
1- I put all my small clothing articles in separate bags. I rolled up all my underwear and paired all my socks. Each got their own bag
2- Small thing that tend to get shoved into the net zippered pocket always are hard to find for me- so all those got categorized and packed together
3- Things that can leak obviously get bagged, but I made sure to put related items together
4- You can also pack all your clothes this way
5- Another smart thing that I came across was packing by the day- I though of doing this, but I mix and match too much for that. This hack is better when you’re going on a short trip.
Hope some of these tips helped you out! If you have any more hacks, leave them down below! Also, if you’ve traveled with UCWW, tell me about your experience!
Thanks for reading!

OK, before we start, just wanted to add a quick note. The Basic Top is basically like the white canvas of shirts. Whether it’s long sleeve, short sleeve, v-neck, crew neck, or any other style or cut, the basic top is something that you really should have! Seriously! Let me tell you why; for one, it can literally be used for ANY style. I’ll show you a few examples soon, but trust me, you can dress it up or down, be sporty or chic, classy or casual. Another major upside is the price. Basic tees can be as low as $10 or less if you shop right! And not to mention, they are really easy to find- basically all clothing stores carry a nice variety of basic tees and tops. Alright, so let me show you how to do it:
First: decide what look you’re going for. For a more dressy look, a few nice pieces really do the job. But be careful not to overdo it. Classy outfits look more elegant when the accessories are understated, with maybe one color to make it pop. For casual look, chunky and fun jewelry is the way to go. And often times, the more you have the better! Multiple bracelets can give a fun or bohemian look. Here’s some inspiration:
I know it’s summer now and you may be thinking: “Is this girl crazy? I sweat enough as it is!” But hear me out! First, the winter does come again. Second, sometimes you stay indoors a lot, and if you’re like me, you can get cool pretty fast from a strong AC. Third, the gauzy, sheer scarves are really light, and don’t make you that hot! Also, I would like to point out that ties- like that adorable bowtie knot you see up above- are really almost like necklaces and they are so cute with button downs. Here’s the proof:
Belts are really a game changer. They can take a regular outfit up ten notches. You should invest in a few really nice ones. Tan and black are great colors, because they matches with a lot, but it never hurts to have some statement colors too. There are many types of belts; thin, thick, plain, buckled, chained. The list goes on. One look we do have to mention here is the fat belts with long poofy skirts. The poofy-skirt look is probably a little intimidating for some, but it’s really easy to pull off when you have the right accessories. The belt emphasizes an hourglass figure by cinching you in by the waist, so the look it slimming as well!
There are so many looks you can achieve with different belts. Play around and have fun with it!
Now this is a big one. Layering is probably the best way to change up your tops so you don’t wear the same thing all the time. And yes, this may be more of a winter thing again, but keep these ideas in your back pocket:
P.S. If you’re looking for awesome tops that you can wear all day in the summer, check out our line of modest swimwear! All our clothes can go in the pool or ocean, and they dry really quickly! Check it out Here

]]>We all have those favorite swim pieces that we love to death! But make sure not to actually wear them to death! Swimsuits are made from delicate material that is easy to ruin. So we’ve put together a list of tips that will help you keep your swimwear in top shape!
When you come out of the pool or ocean, rinse your garment with COLD water. This will wash away harmful particles from the water that eat away at the elastic in your bathing suit!
Never put your bathing suit in the wash! Washing it by hand will ensure that your favorite swim piece won’t get stretched out by the rough washing cycles in your machine.
Always use a detergent that is not harsh on clothing. We recommend using a gentle detergent or Palmolive soap.
Putting your bathing suit in the dryer is a big no-no! Bathing suit material hates heat, so alway air dry!
Hanging your bathing suit to dry is the best way to stretch it out! Especially clothing with thin straps! The best solution is to lay your garment down flat on a clean towel to dry.
Resist the urge to squeeze your dripping wet swimwear! Although you might really want to, wringing out your bathing suit can stretch it out and ruin the fabric.
Although you wear your bathing suit all day in the glare of the sun, sunlight is actually not so friendly towards the delicate material. Excessive sunshine can cause fading, so always dry your swimwear indoors!
Keep towels around for when you sit on rough surfaces. Sitting on rough cement and wood can cause pulls, tears, and damage in your swimsuit. To counter those harmful effect, make sure to sit on a towel or something soft to protect your favorite swimwear.
We hope these tips helped you! Follow our blog to be the first to get updated on awesome articles like this one!
]]>It’s important to look and feel good all summer long! When you go shopping look for light, breathable fabrics, like cotton, so you can stay cool and comfortable all summer long . Also look for clothing that you can mix and match to create lots of cute and different outfits. Here are some essentials:
Basic Tees are called basic for a reason! Stock up on this comfortable cotton wardrobe staple. Since they are also so cheap, you can get lots of different colors, patterns, and prints! But make sure you get some solid colors- they are easier to match.
Flairy skirts are adorable and pretty! Match it with a Basic Tee to make an awesome outfit. And since flairy skirts are, well, flairy- they are cooler and perfect for the summer months. Another great thing about them is that it’s easy to move around in! Flairy skirts don’t restrict your movements, so you can run around comfortably all day!
Sneakers and sandals are the two most important summer shoes! Sneakers, we know, are for running around in, but the right pair can also tie together an outfit! Colorful sneakers may look fun, but solid colors match with more! The second essential, sandals, are cute and summery. There are a lot of choices, but make sure you try them on before purchasing! Sandals can be uncomfortable- and you want to get a pair that looks good on your feet.
This is a big one for all of you leaving to sleepaway camp. Most camps will send out information on what you need, and what you are allowed to bring. Make sure you stay up to date on all the mail you get! But it’s always better to be well prepared; so here’s a packing checklist that we found at sheknows.com:
Also, always label all your possessions! And when you get to camp, unpack neatly right away before you go off exploring! It will save you the frustration of not being able to find your stuff when you’re in a rush!
Now nobody likes a sunburn! And you know what else nobody likes? Changing in and out of your bathing suit, with wet, drippy things all over you bag! These swim outfits are specially designed to look amazing and be comfortable. They are made from a material that offers that most sun protection that you can get- SPF 50+! So no more painful and peeling sunburns! Plus, you can wear it both in the water and out! And since it’s made from bathing suit material, it dries really fast.
Lot’s of people aren’t careful enough with this, but not getting enough water is actually really dangerous! You may have heard that you need 8 glasses of water a day, but it’s not as simple as that. Here’s some some tips to keep you well hydrated:
If you don’t get enough water, you may feel tired, dizzy, and confused. That’s not good when you want to have fun in camp! We suggest to keep water near you all the time so that you drink more often. There are lots of cute water bottles that you can get to keep you motivated!
Wherever you are, stay true to who you are! One of the scariest things about camp can be making new friends. And when we’re nervous, we aren’t showing everyone how awesome and fun we really are! One of the best ways to make new friends is just be friendly. It may seem obvious, but it’s also kinda hard! But just getting to know other people can break the ice, so start conversations discussing things about yourselves and what you like- you will be surprised at how many things you have in common with others!
Also keep in mind that while you may want to dress and act like everyone else, you are giving up some things. One, you might be pressured into doing something that you don’t want to. For example- if everyone is wearing a certain shirt, but you don’t like the way it looks on you, wearing it would just make you self-conscious and uncomfortable. Two, why give up on the things that make you special? Instead of following trends, be who YOU want to be. It’s actually a good way to get people to like you!

]]>As Resort ’16 is in full swing, we love getting pictures from beautiful women, rocking their Modest Swimwear!
When it comes to Modest Swimwear, many women tend to feel comfortable in basics. Solid tops or skirts that keep them less conspicuous next to the many bikini clad women sitting next to them. Basics are always safe, but sometimes you have to dare to be different by bringing a fun print into the mix.
As modest trends have shifted over from separates to dresses, we thought we’d share some of our favorite printed dresses, featured by popular bloggers, so you can see how easy a Swimdress is to style and wear!
Above, Abby from Alamodesty paired her Geometric Printed Swimdress with a pair of chic sandals and a pair of oversized sunglasses for a low-maintenance, high-style look.
When Sarah from @so.my.type sent this photo over to Undercover Waterwear headquarters, our jaws dropped! While the Arizona desserts are quite marvelous, Sara’s style and beauty easily eclipse that with her eye for fashion.
Style tip noted: when working with fun prints, less is more!
One of our favorite things about one of our favorite bloggers is her uncanny ability to look polished yet comfortable. If we didn’t know any better, we’d think Emunah from @the_modestmom just wakes up looking glamorous. As a mom, Emunah utilizes the functionality of the full print swimdress while keeping it sophisticated and classy. One of the many benefits of a swimdress is the low-maintanance aspect. When taking care of little kids, there’s not much time for Mom, but seeing women like Emunah reminds us that as amazing as motherhood is, we all feel great when we look great!
This blog post wouldn’t be complete without a selfie of our favorite Undercover Waterwear girl, Tina, from @tlevents. Tina always has an eye for whats trending, and has been one of our biggest supporters from the begging! Even while vacationing, she always remembers to send us some UCWW love! And we love her for it!

Here are some more great tips for taking the hassle out of packing taken from USA Today online
1. Roll, don’t fold.
Many travel experts—including backpackers, who must stuff months’ worth of clothing into a pack the size of a box of wine—agree that rolling is superior to folding. Tightly rolled clothes take up less space than folded ones. Plus, they’re less prone to getting deep wrinkles from fold creases.
2. Make a packing list
When it comes to packing, procrastinators fall short. Start your packing process days or even weeks ahead of your departure date; this gives you time to craft a complete list, plus purchase any additional items you might need for your vacation. Creating a packing list is a fail-safe way to ensure that you never, ever forget to bring something important.
3. Know your airline’s baggage-fee policy
Figuring out the airlines’ tricky and befuddling baggage-fee policies is key to any budget-minded packing strategy. While most airlines permit travelers to check at least one bag on international flights, the majority of U.S. carriers charge big bucks for bags checked on domestic flights.
Before you begin packing, take a peek at your airline’s website and read its baggage policy. This is something you might even want to do prior to buying your plane ticket, especially if you’re set on bringing a checked bag or two. Consider flying on Southwest or JetBlue, both of which permit at least one free checked bag on domestic flights.
4. Follow the 3-1-1 rule
What happens if you don’t follow the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) 3-1-1 rule for carry-on luggage? Attempt to bring a large bottle of shampoo or a full-size gel deodorant through the security line and the TSA will likely confiscate your stuff, holding you up in line in the process. So get familiar with the agency’s rules: All liquids brought onto planes must be in 3.4-ounce bottles or smaller and inside a single, clear, quart-size zip-top bag.
It also helps to know which items are, according to the TSA, considered liquids or gels and thereby subject to the 3-1-1 rule. This isn’t as simple as it sounds. Foods such as peanut butter, pudding, mashed potatoes, and icing are classified as gels. Mascara, lip gloss, and aerosol items are also classified as liquids or gels. But keep in mind that liquid prescription medication is exempt. (Read more on that on The TSA Blog.) See a more complete list of liquids and gels that are not permitted in carry-on luggage in quantities greater than 3.4 ounces here.
5. Use your personal item wisely
It’s standard for airlines to permit each traveler to bring one carry-on bag and one personal item onboard planes. This personal item is subject to specific size requirements (these vary by airline), but something like a purse, laptop bag, or backpack is generally acceptable.
In Five Tips for Fitting it All in a Carry-on Bag, Caroline Morse advises travelers to leverage their personal-item allowance, suggesting, “Forget wasting my personal-item allowance with a tiny purse. I’ll bring a larger tote bag that I can stash under the seat but will still give me extra storage space. This will come in handy for keeping all of the things I’ll need to be on hand during the flight within arms’ reach as well.”
6. Wash your clothes on the road
Laundry facilities are one of my favorite parts about staying in vacation rentals. If you know your accommodations will have free laundry facilities, you’re golden. You can wash and wear just a handful of outfits for the duration of even very long trips.
If you’re staying in a hotel, call in advance to see if laundry services are available and how much they cost. Travelers staying in properties without laundry facilities or taking cruises—cruise lines are notorious for charging an arm and a pant leg for laundry services—can wash clothes in sinks and hang them to dry. I always make sure to pack a travel-size packet of laundry detergent and a sink stopper to clean my clothes on the road—it’s my secret for fitting everything in a carry-on bag. Portable laundry-drying lines that attach to showers via suction cups are also a good choice; you can find them at many travel-supply stores.
7. Pack dual-purpose garments
If it’s two-in-one, it’s one less thing to pack. Dual-purpose items, such as pants that turn into shorts or a jacket that turns into a travel pillow are worth their weight in airline baggage fees.
8. Layer
This advice is twofold: Wear layers and pack in layers. First, your on-the-road wardrobe should feature plenty of layers, which will help you jetset through multiple climates in style and comfort. Second, the items in your bag should be packed in neat layers for easy screening. According to the TSA, “Pack items in layers (shoes one layer, clothes one layer, electronics one layer, etc.)” so that the security agent screening your bag can get a clear picture of what’s inside. The faster the TSA agent can screen your stuff, the faster you’ll get through the security line.
9. Never check essential items
It’s terribly important to keep your valuable and essential belongings in your carry-on bag, not in your checked luggage. Your passport, identification, money, credit cards, jewelry, electronics, and other valuables should always be brought onto the plane with you. We probably don’t need to tell you why you need to keep your passport and wallet on your person. But if the airline loses your luggage, you’ll regret stowing your expensive watch in a checked bag.
And for your viewing pleasure watch this video and really learn to pack like a pro!

Create memories that will last a lifetime on your next beach vacation
A family beach vacation is an opportunity to relax, swim and be able to do nothing without feeling guilty. The memories we create when spending time with family on vacation are moments we want to remember all year long.
With the help of other popular blogs, we’ve compiled a list of some creative “photo-op” opportunities for you to capture those moments and bring home a piece of your vacation without all the sand!
Have each family member hold a poster with their age. This will take the guessing game out of it years down the road trying to figure out how old everyone was!
Try having the girls coordinate in their modest swimsuits for some really fun, beachy shots!
Dig in some funny face shapes into the sand, and lean in for a cute shadow effect. The dug out sand will enhance the fun and add some character.
Bring along a picture frame and play around with the leverage to achieve a whimsical photo.
By using different angels and lighting, it can be a fun learning experience for the kids.
And the winner is…..
Goofy kids especially will enjoy looking back at their beach days with a shot like this. Dig one child into the sand and have the other bend down with their back to you. Yes, it’s supposed to look like the boys head is off his body!
]]>Who would have thought that something started as a fun family venture could turn into a Modest Swimwear brand that is trusted and loved by many women worldwide?
When co-founders Susan Esses, Melissa Chehebar and Rachel Tabbouche started to dabble in manufacturing Modest Swimwear, the concept was hard to sell. People couldn’t understand why they had to buy a special bathing suit to swim and enjoy water activities, when they could wear an old t-shirt to keep covered. The marketing genius Steve Jobs was correct when he said “A lot of times people don’t know what they need until you show it to them”. And so it has been with Undercover Waterwear.
A few years ago Modest Bathing Suits were a “luxury”, but today they have become a “necessity”. As we grow our business and expand our line, we try our best to stay in tune to the needs of the customer. Our line has grown to include Ladies, Kids, and Plus Size styles. As well as various levels of coverage including skirts, leggings and swimtops in various lengths and colors. Our newest edition to our line, our swimbra, has been very well received, solving the question “What should I wear under my swimdress?”
Everyone’s end goal in building a business is usually the same, to monetize. But the satisfaction and bonds that are strengthened while building a thriving business with the ones you love most in life is priceless.

As the summer season comes to a close, we look back at Summer ’15 with fond memories.
Many memories include our wonderful customers and social media followers that helped both us, and you, see how easy Modest Swimwear can be.
Now would be a good time to look through some of the seasons best ensembles, and have a little styling lesson to keep us focused for the upcoming swimwear season, Resort 16.
For the next few posts, we’ll take a look at various pieces in our Modest Swimwear collection and together we’ll learn the unique benefits and purposes of each one.
The Printed Swim Skirt
A no-fail-look-put-together-without-trying option is always the printed swim skirt. The fun thing about a printed swim skirt is the versatility and ease.
One of our favorite style contributors, @the_modestmom makes it look so simple.
Swim Skirt, Swimtop, your favorite Sunnies and Sunhat and you’re ready to roll (or relax for that matter).
Another stylish customer @robynjoygreen doesn’t have to worry about lugging a change of clothes to the beach, so now she has 2 hands for her BIG GULP ;)
With the options to mix and match, you can choose a print that suits you, whether chic and clean, or fun and vibrant, and work with our color pallet to determine the color you’d like to base with.
Another fun aspect of the Swim Skirt is for those mulit-destination days, your swimskirt can take you wherever you want to go.
@tlevents can go from beach to brunch, and back!
By layering a cool, hooded vest over her Swim Shirt, she is able to change her look, keeping it more contemporary and dressed.
What about the days that you want to steal a swim? Keep your Swim Skirt on, and coordinate your own top, keeping yourself cool and relaxed, and your options open ….
And of course, for those lovely ladies that want extra coverage, our solid swim leggings will work well under a printed skirt to keep you covered and comfortable
Whatever print, style or look you choose, with Undercover Waterwear you’re always well-suited!
