It’s Summer Time in the Northern Hemisphere and time to head out to the beach. When the sun is soaring most of us wait eagerly to go to the beach. It allows us to be at our best and enjoy life to the fullest. A day under the hot sun can be ruined if you don’t have the right kit along with you. At UndercoverWaterwear we recently conducted a contest on Instagram and Facebook where we asked our followers to rate the most important items in their beach bags and we were overwhelmed with the response. While some responses were obvious, others were not quite so. So before you start packing your beach bag, here are a few essential times that you shouldn’t forget to take along with you to the beach.
# Beach Towel
Imagine a day when you are on a beach without your towel. This is the reason it tops our list. Pack a large beach towel as it would come handy.
# Sunscreen
This protects your skin from the harmful Ultra Violet rays of the sun. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen lotion of SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 30 or higher on parts which are directly exposed to the sun’s rays. You can also carry a sunscreen stick to spot-apply on most sensitive parts of your skin.
# Beach Hat
You can’t quite imagine going to a beach without donning a beach hat, can you? It’s a must have in your beach bag and protects your scalp, face, neck, ears and eyes from the direct rays of the sun.
# Sunglasses
It’s a must the moment you step out of your home during the summers and this rule continues on the beach too. You don’t need to carry your most prized shades to the beach but one that offers adequate protection to your eyes.
# Flip Flops
They are the most comfortable thing to wear on the beach and the next best thing to walking bare feet. These hardly cost anything but are surely one of the must haves in your beach bag.
# Water Resistant Phone Pouch
Between the water, sun and sand you may want to post your pictures on Instagram or catch up with your friend on Facebook. Get yourself a water resistant phone pouch. It protects your phone from damage if it comes in contact with water or sand.
# And Extras
Whether you love to read or enjoy listening to your favorite numbers on the beach, you always need to pack in a bit of entertainment in your beach bag. While some have voted for books others wouldn’t hit the beach without water resistant speakers and their iPods.
While these are essential to have a wonderful time in the beach, you should never ignore the beachwear. Make sure you shop for beachwear which not only adds to your style statement but also protects you from the harmful UV rays of the sun. Long exposures to the sun’s rays put you at the risk of skin cancer. Minimize exposure on the bare skin wearing tops and bottoms and enjoy the moment.
